  • About The University Club
    • About The University Club

In 1891, Henry Rogers and others incorporated The University Club "to promote social intercourse among ourselves and... the encouragement of literature." It was understood that the intellectual riches of a university education were only the beginning of a truly good and satisfying life. Today, that vision has not changed.

The University Club continues as a place where mind, body and spirit can be nurtured among friends and family, men and women. Members gather to pursue good food, good drink, fellowship, entertainment, athletics and also the vigorous and continuous development of the mind. The privilege of Club membership serves to enhance both personal and professional relationships.

The spirit of The University Club is symbolized by its 1895 neoclassical home located at 1673 Sherman Street. The Capitol Hill Club House, now a haven in the shadows of high-rise office towers, is one of the few remaining historic buildings in downtown Denver.
